We sang this song for our New Testament year and I’m happy it’s included in the lineup for the Book of Mormon too, as the words are straight from it!

“I Believe in Christ” Envelope Game
The tricky part of this envelope game, is there are multiple ways the pictures could work! The kids had a lot of fun with this and kept moving the images around to try to get them “in order.”
I used the pictures for junior and senior primary.
“I Believe in Christ” Hand Actions
I really needed hand actions that were specific enough to work for the different phrases because so much of this song is similar in words.
“I Believe in Christ” Directed Listening
Here are some questions you can ask the kids to think about or listen for while singing the song:
- Which words rhyme?
- How many names for Jesus do you hear in this song? (can write them on the board)
- What 3 things did Jesus do while on the earth that you hear in this song?
- How many times do we sing about singing or praising Him?
“I Believe in Christ” Fill in the Blank
I’ve done activities like this for Senior and Junior primary! They’ve all liked it! Use as many blanks or as few blanks as you like. If your senior primary goes first, you can have more blanks, and then leave some words when junior primary comes in.
- I Believe in _______ He is My _____
- With all my _____ To Him I’ll _______
- I’ll raise my _____ In praise and _____
- In grand _______ My tongue ______
- I Believe in ______ He Is ________
- On Earth to ______ His soul did ______
- He healed _______ The dead ________
- ________ were His, His name be ________
“I Believe in Christ” Pictures out of Order
This is very similar to the Envelope game, just done with the entire primary at once. Start with the pictures that correlate with parts of the song on the board, but they are out of order, tap kids on the shoulder to get them back! Here’s an idea for images you can use:
- Crown
- Heart
- Singing Emoji Face
- Music Notes
- Hands in prayer position (“amens”)
- Earth
- Arrow
- Sick Emoji
- Someone giving service to another person
