This classic song has so much doctrine about Jesus in it. Your primary kids are going to love learning about Him from these activities!
“He Sent His Son” Shadow Box Puppets Printable
Shadow puppets use light and dark to visually illustrate a story. He Sent His Son is a perfect song for this. If you want to introduce some reverent visual intrigue, shadow boxes are an excellent way to do that! I have a post about how I made my shadow box here.
“He Sent His Son” Song Story
I wrote this song story to help children feel the spirit of the song through the eyes of an investigator, someone who knows nothing about Jesus. It’s really great to do without a pianist, if you can, that way you can freely sing between sections of the story.
I always keep my song stories in front of me so I don’t mess up in the middle, but if you practice and make yourself animated, the kids will be more engaged in the song story. I love having them gather close to me during this time (if they can handle it — sometimes Jr primary can’t handle sitting close to each other).
