“Hark the Herald Angels Sing” Bell Chart

This bell chart includes several ways to do Hark the Herald Angels Sing with your primary! It includes a melody bell chart, and 2 harmony bell charts for the song so you can decide which style you prefer. I like using harmony charts for songs the kids are familiar with. Melody bell charts are good for songs kids are learning but might not know as well (and they work great for junior primary kids to do one song at a time).

Hark the Herald Angels Sing Sit/Stand Activity

This activity gets your kids moving!

  1. Sing through the whole first verse. Have the children patch on their laps as you sing.
  2. Ask the children if they can listen for every time in the song that you sing a name for Jesus. Have them count while you sing again, still patching the beat on their laps.
  3. Now receive their answers. Have the children sing again, but stand whenever they hear a different name of Jesus.
  4. Do another pass through the song, and junior primary can stand and twirl when they hear a different name of Jesus. Senior primary can clap instead of say the different names/titles of Jesus.
