“If the Savior Stood Beside Me” Song Story about Daniel in the Old Testament

During our Old Testament year (2022) I noticed that this song would pair well with several stories about Daniel and his friends. They had such integrity in every interaction! So I wrote this song story. There are 2 ways to do it. One is choppier, one has longer story segments. Read them both, see which one agrees with you better. Just make sure you’re not rushed during song stories!

In Sharla Dance’s methods (which I use), we focus on one verse of a song per month, so if you’re new to this, I would recommend doing the choppier version for verse 1.

If you have zero prep time, please just use sway and freeze! Especially junior primary will be engaged in this method of swaying your body to the rhythm. It has never failed me. Call FREEZE periodically and ask if the children’s arms are in the same direction as yours! Then continue singing and swaying.
